I woke up in the Orchard. That's when I grabbed a twig, because I'd already gotten my power back earlier in the week. I woke up sure that if Otome died this would end, so I went looking for her.
In the infirmary. I think she understood what was happening because she unloaded her supplies when I asked to have tea. I stole some painkillers from her bag and put some in her tea when I made it.
Even if I was sure she needed to die at the time, I still cared about her. It's only proper her body be returned to the earth. I was thinking about something my father said, when I was doing it.
Well... Really he died years ago, but apparently the Yakou had stolen his corpse and he wasn't able to die properly. Shortly before coming here I-We had to... fight him. But in the end he was able to get control back to shield me from an attack... There wasn't anything I could do for the wound he got... And he just told me he was grateful he could finally return to the earth. So I just thought.... Otome would be able to rest more peacefully that way.
... I don't know anything about burial rituals or stuff like that, but...
That presence that's screwing with us said it wanted us to "hate a little more." So if I'm hearing you right... then that piece of crap still failed to get what it really wanted. Maybe that's worth something.
