Since it turns out it's impossible to block the weekly effects, I went with a mind alteration spell. Used it to convince myself of something simple: if Denji dies during expulsion, he can't be saved. That belief pretty much overwrote any facts that would contradict it, so it probably looked a lot like memory loss.
That’s all right, Rita. You were being thorough… I just chose to focus on other things and it worked out for me, but I also avoided being with a lot of people.
In the end, it worked out—one less stupid expulsion. Now we just need to figure out the rest of it.
I probably wouldn't have been able to talk to Denji without it.
