[rita sighs and folds her arms.] I guess I don't mind talking about it...

It was this place called 'Wonderland.' With a series of screwed-up games designed to make people suffer.

Like... to start with, we had to spin a wheel to choose something to sacrifice. Things like... your physical attributes, your skills, parts of your body, your memories... or your life.

... So it's a twisted game, kind of like this.

[ In terms of levels of deranged. I don't like that. ]

Yeah, pretty much.

All the others rolled "eye" at some point, and their vision was screwed up. I had to lead them around. Malik ended up sacrificing a ton of his memories... And me... worst one I got was "ten years of your life."

I rejected it, though. Took a penalty, instead.

It's all about taking things, isn't it.

What was the penalty?

Two sacrifices.

I lost a portion of my magic skills, and... [What else...?] a memory.

... Is that memory still gone?

It must be, because I don't remember what it was.

... Did you at least get to choose?

They told me what it would be. I just had to say yes or no.

But declining would mean another penalty, and presumably, another two sacrifices.

[ At least it was a choice. Still dislike that, though. ]

How did you guys win in that field trip.

We had to complete these... challenges. Combat. Fighting our fears, or enemies from home.

Fortunately, I had a lot of spells prepared for something like this.

I think most of us are prepared for things to happen on Thursdays… Which is good, but I wish it wasn’t like that.

Was the usual trick there?

Yeah. We had to play a stupid game. "Trust" or "forsake." We were told there was another group in Wonderland with us, and we each had to choose one of those two options.

If both groups chose "trust," our next challenge would be easier. Both "forsake," and the next challenge would be harder. But if one chose "trust" and the other "forsake," the "forsake" team would skip their challenge, and the "trust" side would get a near-impossible one.

We thought the other team was the other field trip group, so we chose "trust." It wasn't, and that other group picked "forsake." Got stuck in a fight against a bunch of tough enemies with no weapons for us to use. Burned through most of my spells. Everyone was injured.

So the second time around, we picked "forsake."
