Hands on your hips, you shoot him a cocky look. "I think you just gave yourself away. I don't know who you are, but you're definitely not from Aspio if you don't recognize me."
It's enough to get him to drop the act immediately. "Gah! This job is just full of problems. If it's not the Knights, it's a bunch of kids!" He puts something into the golem, which activates suddenly... and swings its arm right into you. Pain shoots through your body as you're knocked into the air and smashed into a pillar. You slump to the ground there, dazed.
One of your companions, a girl with pink hair, runs to your side and casts a healing spell. Strength returns and pain fades, and as you lift your head to look at her, you realize something is very strange. You grab her wrist, trying to look at the bracelet on it.

Not exactly. Plenty of people can do it... with the help of a blastia. [she points to the choker on her neck as an example.] Humans can't use magic naturally, so we have to rely on stuff like that.
But when I was getting healed back then, I noticed her blastia didn't actually activate.
At the time, I didn't really believe there were people like that. I mean... people who actually gave a damn, who didn't have some ulterior motive for being nice.
