Really? I can't imagine it any other way. I mean, science is how we examine and understand all things in the natural world, so why wouldn't magic be a part of that?
And, naturally, the better your understanding of something, the better you can use it.
True. Some people are able to cast spells intuitively, without any deep understanding of magic theory.
... but that doesn't make it unscientific! There's a scientific process involved, even if the spellcasters don't know what it is. It's like how you can use a phone and not know how it works.
