Honor Society + Whatever-The-Hell-Nier-Is Picnic

[Sometime on Monday, Nier will get a text informing him that they're having a picnic, as well as the time and place.

When they do get together, somewhere on the campus grounds, there's a large picnic blanket spread out over the grass. There's also a pitcher of iced tea and some cups. Kon and Yamato have been encouraged to bring food.]

[ hewwo. Nier has called everyone to some abandoned classroom, during a time where there are no classes in this building in particular. No. Don't question the details. ]

Have you guys chosen your target yet? For the mystery role holder. [ Speaking of which: ] I think they can change the school rules.

[ you know the tuesday curses... ]

W, wait. Are you sure? Did you hear that from somewhere?

... It would make sense, wouldn't it? We have some weird curse that starts up on Monday, but then we get a delayed one on Tuesday. Riku seems to think this makes sense, too.

If we look at the past weeks, none of us could use our roles when we first arrived, right? We didn't have them yet. There was no curse at all that week.

... I'd thought about the same thing, honestly. Considering the timing.

Wonder if that helps us at all... [folding her arms...]

Maybe they choose a seemingly harmless rule, to prevent a worse one from taking effect...? There's got to be some purpose in what they do.

It's possible. If it's nothing like your guys' roles, it might be more similar to mine where they can choose between two options.

We had one where we had to talk about regrets which seems very different from being like an animal.

Right. Sometimes it's a compulsion, and sometimes it's something we have to choose to follow through on.

... I never mentioned this before, but since it may be relevant: I get vouchers if my doctor target does get executed.

... And we get vouchers for helping people with extra credit.

We'd tried looking into people with weirdly high numbers of vouchers, a little. Ichinose turned up nothing. [ichinose has so many]

In order... Otome, Sakyou, Crow, Luxanna, Ichinose.

Otome and Luxanna were... you know. Hits. The others, nothing.

How many vouchers do you guys get?

[ Curious. ]

Mm... When I talked with Riku about the identity of this person, we considered that they're probably sneaky and good at hiding, but not sure if that means a lot. It's speculation.

Just one for helping, supposedly. But on a good week, I usually get 8 total. [same as ichinose. damn her and her mysterious moneymaking ways that are apparently legitimate!]

Huh... does that sound like it describes anyone in particular?

... Not really, considering that we are all supposed to be secretive about this.

The only thing I find weird is that Mandricardo went from 11 the previous week vouchers to 23 the past Saturday, but it wasn't that he received them from Otome. [ this was confirmed to be given to Yamato, right? ] Wang Lu didn't give him many vouchers before he left, either.

I never asked him how he got so many, but it might be worth investigating outside of your guys' target?

Huh... [her eyes widen a bit.] That's worth considering.

We don't have any other leads right now, either, unless... [looking over her shoulder] Hey, Yamato. How's Taichi making out with the list?

As for the legwork... maybe one of our other confidants? Or we could take the risk, divvy up the list, and do it ourselves.

Of all of them, Caleb's the best liar, so we could ask him to help, but the rest we might as well divvy up.

It's hard to say, but asking him might help us understand where his vouchers come from. We could easily confirm it by double checking with people that he would claim giving him their vouchers.

I do want to say that it might not lead anywhere. A friend of mine got ten vouchers for no reason and they do not have a role.

Yeah... we never really worked out how the math checks out for these.

Our deadline's almost here, so we'll put in Mandricardo for now. If it's a miss, it's a miss. Wouldn't be the first time.
