Honor Society + Whatever-The-Hell-Nier-Is Picnic

[Sometime on Monday, Nier will get a text informing him that they're having a picnic, as well as the time and place.

When they do get together, somewhere on the campus grounds, there's a large picnic blanket spread out over the grass. There's also a pitcher of iced tea and some cups. Kon and Yamato have been encouraged to bring food.]

DEAN'S LIST

You guys saw the dean's list, right? I'm starting to feel pretty good about that theory I proposed last week.

[rita's just gonna slap down this chart to show.]

Of the six people who've appeared on the dean's list who we know have roles, all of them have their pictures intact. If we eliminate those with torn pictures, as well as those we've already investigated, it narrows the pool down by quite a lot. One of these remaining few might be our mystery role-holder.

There's the matter of the marquee, too. Sounds like the "sleepers and victim are part of the same pool" idea was correct, but... what's the rest of it mean? [mufasa???]

This makes a lot of sense. Mufasa is a name I remember from reading about the movie called "The Lion King?"

Have the "teacher's pets" been identified in public before? I wonder if they are the intended targets.

Mufasa's from a movie about lions. He's the father and he dies, but at the end of the movie he comes as a kind of cloud apparition to talk to his son and tells him to... "remember who you are".

Like what happens to the Dorm Heads, maybe? Speaking of-- Riku and Iris both reverted back to Luke and Viola for a time, yesterday.

I heard. Lucretia caught wind of it and stopped us before we could buy the hint from Hugo. It sounded like that was what triggered it.

You might as well buy the hint, because it wasn't that. Riku was Luke the moment I stepped in to talk to him. I didn't notice right away, but he was wearing his stupid baseball jersey.

Did we just not notice with Hugo, or was there some other trigger...? [The guy barely talks, anyway...]

Annie was still herself when I bought the hint from her, but when Claude talked to her later in the day, she regressed.

So our only clue right now is trying to figure out if Hugo's changed at all...? At least we know it had nothing to do with points.

Lucretia was going out of her way to use his name a bunch yesterday, and he never reacted weirdly to it. Sakyou talked to him this morning, too, and he was still normal.

So... I don't know, if he reverted, it would've had to be while none of us were talking to him...? Or... maybe he was actually fine.

Iris was herself. I even called her by name, while we were talking, and there was no reaction or difference until after I'd bought the clue. It was immediately afterwards that she reverted to Viola - but subsequently fought her way back out to warn me to "prepare for the worst."

All I'd said to her was that it'd been a long day, I was worried about the dorm, and that I was going to check on Beau. No mention of Iris, just "we'll be here with you" before she kicked Viola out.

On the matter of the marquee, I... assume, in that first section, it must be related to someone who can—speak with the dead?

Maya channels the dead, she can't speak to them herself? That's what she said. Manwol can talk to the dead normally, too.

Yeah, but isn't Manwol, like... you know, she is the dead? So a hint pointing to her would probably indicate that, instead of just somebody talking to the dead.

Let us narrow it down this way, then: do either of you recall aught either Maya or Manwol may have made mention of the sleepers and a killer?

In that last town hall meeting, Maya said something like, "maybe those three were the ones in danger of losing themselves, and the killers had to pick one..."

Maybe the dead want to say she was spot on, either about that, or something else she said on the topic...?

If you remember, I too was one of the—erm, teacher's pets ere I suddenly found myself coming to in the cafeteria. I do believe that lines up with losing my sense of self, in a way.

Maya's theory was made in public, yeah. It's something for us to put some thought into.

Although, after hearing about the emoji message that was received over in Spring... if we don't get somewhere with it, let's not stress ourselves out, in the event that it's just. Nonsense.
