[she might be annoyed, but her annoyance is mostly directed at everyone involved. futaba and hope really tried to yeet themselves into danger just like that]
Ichiro said that he managed to calm down after all that. That he was back to normal, felt bad, that sort of thing. I'll probably try talking to him later.
Yeah... it sounded like he's been through some brutal stuff. He talks about it like it's nothing, but there's no way that doesn't leave a mark on somebody.
[she's just been dissecting her cheesecake into smaller pieces, but she'll finally eat one of them.]
Spirits and gods can use magic of a kind, but humans who can wield it are pretty rare. And even then, it's only things like being more spiritually sensitive, not summoning fire or lightning.
Where I'm from, humans can't use magic naturally, but we have technology that lets us borrow power from other sources. [she points to the choker on her neck.] At least, that's how I typically managed the whole "fire and lightning" thing.
"Typically" as in... that's how it worked for ages, and then something caused the entire nature of magic to change dramatically, so we can't do it that way anymore. I still wear this all the time, but the core's actually totally defunct.
The formula was something I'd been working on for years, with a few tweaks, but once I had that down, it was just a matter of applying it on a large scale. I'll admit I kind of got lucky on a few fronts, though.
Well, I had all the regular powers a ghost would have. Teleportation, phasing, messing with technology, telekinesis... And then a couple of extra things like summoning and banishing ghosts, casting and breaking curses... Just to name a few.
That was one of the reasons why I volunteered that time. I thought I was the best person who could find Lan Wangji's spirit and figure out what happened.

Most of the people in my dorm are still injured -- and the ones who weren't went ahead and got injured last night too.
[she's just gonna get a cheesecake, she no longer has the right to criticize rita for her food choices]
Better to save those painkillers for the next time they try and tackle Denji to the ground.

annnd there are a bunch of feelings that surface when she mentions denji, there. concern, alarm, guilt?]
That idiot... I still can't believe that happened.

...Was he okay after?

[Rita ur discomfort]
...Has he ever acted like that here before?

He's usually just an oblivious doofus, and while I've seen him get serious now and then, it still wasn't anything like that.

[taking a bite of her cheesecake,]
He fights devils and zombies, right? So he's probably used to having to fight for his life.

Why, is magic rare where you're from?

What do you mean by 'typically'? Is it different here?

The entire nature of magic? ...Are you sure that's not on the same level?
[denji may be a zombie hunter but rita??? your entire world??]

I'd need access to whatever the source of that power is, as well as a way to directly interact with it.

So I'll let you know instead if I end up finding something.

... What kind of powers did you have before?
