[ oof. he grimaces a little, sympathetic. ]

[she nods, emphatically. she looks very pissed off, actually.]

[steelo]

[ hmmm. he tilts his head, expression genuinely concerned. ]

You wanna vent about it? Ice cream usually helps.

[overlimit]

[that kind of makes her look conflicted?? she tugs at her hair, looks around, and then grabs him by the arm and pulls him aside.

she points to her throat.]

[steelo]

You lost your voice? [ a beat. ] Or - magically? Wait, hang on.

[ ichiro reaches for his phone and pulls up the word document app, then hands it to her. ]

Here - can you type?

[she pushes it back to him and pulls out her own, typing a message that she holds up to show with a flat expression:]

I have my own phone.

[but then she'll quickly type in a different message:]

Look, don't tell anyone, all right?

I'm pretty sure someone's screwing with me and I don't want to give them the satisfaction of knowing it worked.

[she does all of this with one hand, as the other is still holding his arm.]

[steelo]

Sure.

[ oh god poor rita im crying

the sarcasm on the phone gets him to snort, actually, and he tucks his phone back in his pocket, casually turning a little bit to shield her typing from view. a little louder, he says - ] Yeah, thanks for tutoring me, Rita-chan, this paper's a mess. Show me that problem?

[ you're so smart and cool

anyway so now that no one will look their way weirdly over them hunched over her phone, ichiro speaks quieter again. ] Got any idea who it might be? When did it start?

This morning.
No clue. Maybe someone I got pissed off at recently?

[a pause... and she adds:]

That might be a lot of people.

[steelo]

[ he is smart sometimes

ichiro snorts at that, though. ]

Okay. You got a list? We can try and figure out who's petty enough to ask for some way to mess with you.

[rita nods...]

tsuyukusa, sieghart, sakyou, denji, caiman,

[it looks like she's trying to remember more, but looking at the list so far...]

I don't think any of these are very likely.

[steelo]

...Yeah. [ hmmmmmm..... ichiro puts his chin in his hand, thinking. ]

I mean, Sakyou's way too nice. I don't think Denji's - I like the dude, but I don't know if he'd think that far ahead, you know? The others... yeah, doesn't really make sense.

[ weird. ] Maybe it's like what happened to Catra last week - she was acting like, super school spirited. It was kind of freaky, and we never figured out where it came from.

Wasn't that because she didn't go to class? She broke a rule.

[...

rita crosses her arms, thinking...]

[steelo]

[ .... ]

...Did you break a rule?

[she shakes her head!]



[... she shrugs??]

[ i'm crying ]

Are you sure? [ he sounds like he's at least a little bit joking. ]

[she fumbles a little as she grabs her phone again!! ugh!!]

I didn't.

[shown as she holds her phone firmly pointed at his face! ...then...]

A lot of the rules here are stupid and pointless, so who even knows if I broke one?
I'm going to try talking to a dorm head.

[steelo]

[ i'm crying. this makes him laugh a little bit, and he muffles it behind his hand. ]

They are stupid, yeah. [ really fucking stupid actually every rule here sucks ] Let me know when you get your voice back, okay? Or if you find out anything. I'll cover for you if you need someone to be loud.

[ he is in fact very good at that. ] And - I'm still making good on ice cream, if you want it. Haha.

[she pauses... giving him a sort of grateful look.]

[later for talking? later for ice cream? it's unclear, just that it will be later. and then she leaves.]
